Should doctors check body temperature on infants with fever?

At 40 he should go to the Hospital, because at this temperature proteins start to deteriorate (every cell in the body is made of proteins). But technically at 39 a doctor should be doing something to combat the temperature. A fever is actually good as long as it doesn’t go over 38.5. Most hospitals start giving medication at that point. I would get a second opinion. Regardless of what your infant has, infants are much more susceptible to damage from a fever. Go see another pediatrician as soon as possible. Be annoying and demand some sort of action or at least a good explanation as to why the doctor thinks it’s harmless. Try giving your infant a peppermint tea bath. Make a cup of hot peppermint tea with a shot of milk in it (obviously without sugar) then mix that cold water until you have lukewarm. Wash him off with the water, don’t actually dry him but instead wrap him up in a towel. This should sink the fever some, just make sure he doesn’t get too cold.
