Should Doughnut Dissing Doctor Be Fired? Thursday August 20, 2009 A Florida doctor, Jason Newsom MD, was recently forced to resign from his job at the Bay City Health Department for publicly attacking doughnuts for being unhealthy. He posted health advice on an electronic sign outside of the facility. Some of his warning to the public included sayings like “French Fries = Thunder Thighs” and “Doughnuts = Diabetes”. After posting a sign that said “America Dies On Dunkin'” which was a play on words for Dunkin’ Doughnuts newest slogan, “America Runs on Dunkin”, legal action was brought against him. The lawyers who took the doctor to task for his signs, just happened to own doughnut shops.
