Should I do karate or ninjutsu?

Ask yourself what you want from your martial arts training as the two systems are very different. Karate is an empty hand system, physically tough and geared towards sporting competition, it uses mostly punches and kicks done at high speed. Ninjitsu is both empty hand and weapons focused, it is not a sport but a system of survival and endutrance that has a deep spiritual side as it includes meditation and deep breathing. Ninjitsu takes longer to learn as it involves holds, throws and pressure point strikes as well as strikes and the use of various blades, staffs and throwing stars. Whatever you do find a reputable teacher in a recognised style, watch the classes first, see if you like the sensei, the students, what is taught and how it is presented. Good Luck.
