Should I store tomato seed in the fridge or the freezer?

You should store them in neither place. You should store them in a dry, cool, dark room. Storing in the freezer for long periods of time can result if freezer burn. Even though the seeds are dry, they are not completely dry, and damage will occur over time. Storing in the fridge is the worst place. The humidity level can be high at times in the fridge, and mold can form. Your best bet is to buy all that you can, harvest seeds from tomatoes that naturally fall from the vine after ripening, and ensure that you plant seeds from different plants close to each other each year. This will help with cross pollination, and allow for a stronger strain of genetics. I save pods from flowers and vegetables each year, but I use them each year. The longer you have them in storage, the fewer seeds will germinate, so planting, and collecting seeds each year is critical to protecting the varieties you love.
