• You can, but I don’t advise that you do. A good volume defragmenter gives special consideration to usage relationships between different files, arranging them together and placing them at specific locations on the hard disk. Currently, FragExt simply looks for the first amount of free space large enough to defragment the file into and uses it. Future versions may include support for optimal placement patterns. • When I try to install FragExt, I get a message stating “A previous version of this product is already installed…” • Uninstall previous versions prior to installing a new one from the Add/Remove Programs dialog in the Control Panel. • I installed FragExt, but nothing happens. • If you elected to have a desktop shortcut created for the Defrag Manager, run it, add new files, repeat, play around, etc. The FragExt shell extensions are accessed through Windows Explorer.
