The argument about medical marijuana is about re-scheduling. Currently, marijuana is a Schedule 1 drug. Schedule 1 drugs cannot be bought, sold, or prescribed legally. Marijuana was scheduled in 1972 by police, not doctors. All legitimate research since that time has shown that marijuana is not a harmful drug. The law is far more harmful than the effects of the drug. Immune system: There is no medical evidence that proves that marijuana use in any way compromises the immune system or that shows that marijuana users are more susceptible to infections than nonusers.
