Should people with Downs Syndrome be allowed to procreate?

they can but there is a very good chance that the baby(s) will have Down’s Syndrome, and all involved would have to have carers around the clock, i think if 1 parent has Down’s Syndrome their is a 50% chance the baby will have it, if both parents have Down’s Syndrome the chances are 95% this sounds horrible, but if the child is normal (non Down’s Syndrome) he/she will have to take care of him/herself.

It depends on how severe their down’s syndrome is… but natuarally speaking a person with a severe case wouldnt have the mental capability of developing a relationship with another person to even procreate… but I believe that a person with down’s syndrome that is “there” and understands whats going on has full capability of having a relationship and someday possibly having a family. The only hopes for those situations that I have is that there are close family members that can help the couple with the baby and if need-be could take care of the baby long term if something were to happen to the parents. I do not believe that anyone has a right to determine something like that for another person, but hopefully the person with down’s syndrome that wants a child has the full capability of understanding the responsibilities and hardships that children can bring.
