City residents prove resolve to hold Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety accountable for the actions of it officers. Following a warrant issued for four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person under the age of 13 and one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, Officer Matthew Hallman committed suicide with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the locker room of the department’s Bryant Street police station.
