Should the Chinese Olympics be boycotted because of Tibet?

Olympics and politics do not mix. The Olympics were created as a way for the best athletes in the world to get together and compete to determine who was the greatest, and a way to recognize those competing. They have nothing to do with politics, and boycotts only hurt the athletes who have spent so many years training for what may be their one chance at gold. The Nazi government tried to make a political statement via the Olympics, and failed miserably. The terrorists killed Israeli team members, and it backfired on their cause. The USA boycotted the Soviet Olympics, and the Soviets returned the favor, with no effect on the politics of either country. The only damage was to the athletes who weren’t allowed to compete, and to those who did. The first wondering if they could have won, the latter wondering if they would have. It’s sad, and they should leave the Olympics alone. Let the competitors compete, and leave the politics for other venues.

This is probably the only Tibetian supporter in the World that has guts and a backbone! Congratulations to him, and I definitely support his cause and not those wannabes that just parade around doing nothing but shouting and extinguishing the Olympic flame! Man With ‘Free Tibet’ Sign Shoots Himself In SF SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) ― A 64-year-old man wearing a “Free Tibet” sign around his neck shot himself late Monday night outside the Marina District home of his former landlord, San Francisco police reported. According to police spokesman Sgt. Wilfred Williams, the man, described as an Asian male, “appeared to have committed suicide” at about 11:46 p.m. in the 2200 block of Beach Street. The man, whose name has not yet been released by the San Francisco medical examiner’s office, was pronounced dead at San Francisco General Hospital, Williams said. According to Williams, the man had recently been evicted from his business, located in another part of the city, and was also recently divorced.
