One could argue that once a person reaches the age of majority and can vote, enter into a legal agreement, etc. that they should have all of the other rights and privileges of adulthood without any other age restrictions. On the other hand, with so many alcohol related traffic fatalities being reported these days, it would be hard to get any real support for the measure. This thing has been going back and forth for the past 40-50 years. At one time the voting and drinking age was 21. People put forth the argument that if one was old enough to be drafted into the military to fight (and possibly die) at age 18, then they should have the right to vote. The drinking age often varied by state. Some kept it at 21, others lowered it to 18. The federal government finally started bringing the states into line by threatening to withhold highway funds if they didn’t start raising the age. In TX the age went first from 18 to 19 (One month after my 18th birthday!!!) then to 21 a few years later. In
