No, if they got rid of it teams like the Knicks would have all the best players due to huge income whilst teams like the Spurs who have built up a strong franchise would suffer because they’re in a smaller market. If they did get rid of the cap they’d need to set up some sort of scheme where a percentage of the richer clubs’ incomes is circulated around the league to even it out. It’s not as if any superstars have moved to Europe yet anyway… Josh Childress, the best of the players who moved last summer, was like the fourth or fifth best player on the Hawks behind Johnson, Bibby, Smith and probably Horford.

Absolutely not! You would have the richest teams owning the NBA. If anything, they should reduce the number of teams in the NBA and cut half these guys that can’t play at a professional level. And by decreasing the number of teams, the density of great players would be less spread out = you would have powerful teams again like in the 80s.
