SHOULD THE UNITED STATES ALLOW THE ARTIST FORMERLY KNOWN AS CAT STEVENS INTO THE COUNTRY?

[+] ballot by dinkytown created Thu Nov 11, 04 Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens, is on a terrorist watch list in the United States and is not allowed to enter that country. Islam is alleged to have given money to charities which support terrorist organizations. Islam’s supporters say that he is a humanitarian activist with no connections to terrorists. Islam is also notorious for allegedly calling for Salman Rushdie’s death, because Rushdie’s book, “The Satanic Verses,” blasphemed Muhammed. When Ayatollah Khomeni issued a fatwa calling for Rushdie’s death, Islam was quoted as saying that the penalty for blasphemy is death. Now Islam claims that he never really supported Khomeni’s fatwa. He was only quoting the Koran, and Khomeni was taking the law into his own hands by issuing the fatwa. Should the United States let Islam in the country or should they keep him out?
