Now for an opinion from a country that DOES have women in ALL of it’s combat trades, including submarines, armour, engineers, artillery, bomb techs and …..oh yeah, combat infantry. The Canadian Forces makes ALL military trades open to any women who can PASS the physical to get into the trade course, and PASS the trade course. This means that today, in Afghanistan, we have female armoured vehicle crew members, artillery gunners, combat engineers and infanteers, who are female. The CF expects that all of it’s members will be capable of being deployed, and that they can be trusted to act like adults , at all times. The same attitude applies to gay persons. In the CF gay people serve openly, and with pride. The concept that a woman cannot be effective in combat has been proven to be false, in the seven years that we have been in constant combat in Afghanistan.
