I think I would go to the supermarket and read the cooking instructions on the likes of a Homepride potato bake sauce jar, and just copy that. I’m fairly sure you use raw potatoes with that and cook for about 35-45 mins at about 200 degrees C. You don’t stir it or you’ll disturb the layers. You could add cheese for the last 10 mins or so. If you want to parboil them like the person above said, I’d do it for about 10 mins, drain the water off and put them back on a low heat for a minute or two to dry the potatoes off, before slicing and layering with the sauce. You’d only need to bake for about 20 mins that way.
