Tell me about your relationship with the late, great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan? I always listened to his music. He was my friend and my inspiration. The only regret in my career is that I never recorded with him. We always wanted to record together but our timetables clashed. Your brother Harvinder Singh is being hailed by many as tomorrow’s super star. How much advice do you give him? I put a lot of my energy into his material. He has a good voice and I tell him what kind of tunes he is suited to. His album will be ready for a worldwide release at the end of the year. Outside Bhangra what music do you like and what music do you hate? I hate senseless re-mixes that have more emphasis on repetitive music over vocals. I love watching MTV and I like Whitney Houston, Madonna and Celine Dion. You are also one of the great songwriters. What are the ingredients of a good song? It’s a building process.
