So, when does MTV play music videos?
From about 6:00 in the morning to around 8:00, they’ll show music videos. Direct Effect will show about 6 music videos, but only about half of ’em. And then, we have TRL. “TRL! Carson’s so hot!” And he’s also absent half the time, but that’s not the point. TRL blows, but since there’s nothing else to satisfy my thirst for music (without spending 15 bucks!), I watch it. The average TRL show is about an hour long. About 15 minutes altogether is dedicated to music videos. About 25 is dedicated to assorted junk. Another 20 is dedicated to… commercials. Let’s do the average MTV video: Britney Spears, Stronger! (Video starts about a ninth of the way through the song.) Britney: I’ve had! E! Nuuuuuf! I’m not your prop – Girl: HI!!! MY NAME IS JESSICA FROM FLORIDA, AND I WANT TO VOTE FOR BRITNEY SPEARS’S ‘STRONGER’ BECAUSE WHENEVER I HEAR THIS SONG, I BECOME STRONGER! WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Britney – … that I can’t make it! On my o-own! ‘cuz now, I’m, stron – Guy: Uh… my name… uh.
