Someone told me that theres no such thing as a poisonous snake, only a venemous snake. Whats the difference?
Poison and venom are basically the same thing- neurotoxins, a fancy name for something that makes your muscles hurt and makes you sick to your stomach. The only difference is HOW they get into your body. Snakes and spiders always inject poison with their fangs, therefore they are said to be venemous. Frogs, on the other hand, secrete poison out their skin. You get sick by touching one and letting the venom get through your skin or in your mouth. So they are said to be poisonous.
