You may have snails or slugs feeding on your plants. The best time to check for snails in your garden is at night with a flashlight. Slug and Snail Traps can also be used to determine if you have slugs or snails. Snails and slugs prefer moist, damp areas and tend to avoid direct sunlight. You may also notice the snails have left silver trails around the plants and on top of the soil. We recommend using Safer’s Slug and Snail Bait. This easy-to-use granular bait can be sprinkled around the soil near the affected plants, ideally in the evening. Any uneaten bait will degrade and become part of the soil. You will notice a marked improvement in the soil within a few days.
