Sorry if this is a silly question… can you play playstation 2 games on a playstation 3?
It’s not silly, it’s one of the most asked and worst answered questions. These are the PS3 models that CAN NOT play PS2 games: The Slim The 40GB The 160GB The new 80GB (on sale now) The 60GB, 20GB, and OLD 80GB model can play PS2 games. None of these are in production anymore, and the only way to get them is online. An easy way to tell is to look at the front of the PS3. If it has two USB ports, then it will not play PS2 games. If it has 4, then it will. Also, all PS3s, regardless of model, will play PS1 games. And also again, NO. There is no way to make it play PS2 games. There is no update, hack, mod, torrent, download…nothing can make it play PS2 games.
