Steve, there isn’t a default paragraph setting. However, you can create a new blank document template. Set the paragraph indents as you want them to be. Save the Document as a template. File save as, Files of type, Template *.dot. To use, from the File menu, new, and on the General tab find the document you just created. The paragraph settings will hold. Keep in mind, Tabbing the first line of a paragraph is not an indent. You would have to do that from the Format menu, paragraph and you would probably want first line indent. It works quite well, you might have to experiment.
