It depends. Students targeting up are counted as participants and as meeting standard if they meet the achievement/performance standard for the test. There is an exception to this rule: an 8th grade student who targets up to the high school test is not counted as participating unless the student takes the test for 8th grade as well. The score from the 8th grade test is included in the report card while a passing score on the high school test is included in the report card when the student is enrolled in grade 10. Students targeting down are not counted in participation or performance.
