SVEC charges a convenience fee for processing credit/debit card payments, why?

0

The convenience fee is charged by the third party administrator that SVEC uses to process and accept credit card payments. As a not-for-profit entity, the convenience fee is the cost that is incurred as a result of the transaction from the third party’s servicing of your payment, it is not charged by SVEC. Unlike a retail operation that processes credit card payments (where these additional fees are built into the products sold), we must provide electricity “at cost” to our members. There is no “mark up” from SVEC’s perspective. Please keep in mind that there are a number of payment options available to you that do not require the payment of any fees, including check and our eazy pay program ( 43 KB).
