TDs with a cold idle mechanism?

I see what you’re talking about on a diagram in the shop manual. But, neither of my carbs have this provision. Could this be an early/late TD thing? Is anyone else missing this feature? A cold idle would sure be nice for crank starting! All the TDs came with the cold (or fast) idle linkage, but I am sure that over the years some of the carbs have had the parts removed, lost, discarded, etc. One thing I found, after 40 years of TD ownership, is that if you depress the accelerator about half way when you pull on the choke cable, the choke cable moves a lot easier and with far less pulling force. I presume that this is caused by the fact that you’re not pulling against the accelerator springs as well when the cold idle mechanism is activated by the choke cable. In the case of my car, the force required to pull out the choke is about half as much with the accelerator depressed. Yes, it does make a difference.
