WHO INVENTED IT Dr. Roy J Plunkett, from New Carlisle, Ohio, was born June 26, 1910 and died May 12,1994. He got his B.A.in chemistry and later a PH.D. He was hired by the DuPont company in 1936 and retired in 1975. HISTORY OF PTFE The discovery was made April 6, 1938 when Dr. Plunkett was working in Deepwater, New Jersy.
