Probably the biggest thing that we have been dealing with both personally and as a band is the death of our mutual best friend David Cardwell, who died in a tragic rock-climbing accident last year. We miss him terribly, and during the making of “Guns of Love Disastrous,” our music was a way for us to deal with our loss. The song “Interstellar Man” (track 9 on the album) was written for David by Austin a couple weeks after his death. It seemed only natural to dedicate the album to the memory of our friend. Jeanette Helms was the grandmother of our close friends from church, and she passed away this summer. Ms. Helms always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone she met – we miss her terribly as well. The instrumental song “Jeanette” (track 8 on the album) was written in Ms. Helms’ memory by Austin on the night he returned home from her memorial service. The band felt that because of both “Jeanette” and “Interstellar Man,” we should dedicate the album not just to one of the
