It probably will not harm you, although it may be comedogenic. Its toxicity is considered low when used topically. Dimethicone is similar to cyclomethicone. They are both lubricating agents typically used for making waterproofing compounds for use in industrial applications. When applied to the skin, it will create a very thin, slick coating and the illusion that the skin feels smoother. Yet, it provides no real benefit to the skin, as it has no nutritional value, and it is not absorbed into the skin. It is silicone. Silicone is made from common beach sand. So it’s really just more smoke and mirrors.
