The care label in my daughters 100% polyester blouse says “dry clean only.” Can I machine wash this blouse on permanent press or gentle cycles or should I just hand wash it with a mild soap?

Polyester is washable. However, if the label says dry clean only there may be a lining, collar, trim, embroidery or other embellishment which shouldn’t be washed. When the label says “dry clean only,” the word “only” is a warning which should be taken seriously. It is there for a reason.
