We have found that torque is dependent on the size or length of the HVE valve and the weight and length of the suction hose. There are simple ways to reduce any noticeable torque for your patients: • replace long HVE valves with shorter valves; • replace heavy hoses with lighter hoses; or • drape the hose over the toolbar or clinician’s lap to shorten its length and prop it up to relieve its weight.
