Ensure that you have checked the sample press box on the Typhoon Variable Mode Imager. Movement of the laser during scanning will cause the instrument to vibrate slightly. If the sample press option is not selected, these vibrations may cause the plates to move during the scan. This may result in a slightly shifted image between the first and second color channels which are always scanned in succession for analytical scans. An example where plate slippage has occured due to failure to use the sample press is shown below.
