Four people signed up, but only one ever managed to complete the alpha-testing phase. When the patch was finally finished, the director realized that aside from this one alpha-test, the patch had no other forms of applied quality control. He decided that the initial final build, Build A, would undergo a stealth closed beta, without any mention that it was a beta in order to attract more people. In addition, the patch would be made available to only those who had actual copies of the game and were willing to undergo a strict time-controlled test in order to prove their authenticity. The response was overwhelmingly negative.
