The TINI board seems sluggish. What is the throughput of the Ethernet port?

[From the TINI mailing list] I did some throughput testing on the ethernet port by taking the Java Echo sample program and bumping the buffer size from 16 bytes up to around 1024 bytes. Using a test program running on a PC, I topped out around 55k bytes/sec coming and going. So a total throughput of around 110kbytes/sec. Initially I tried bumping the Echo Java program buffer size up to 4096 in size, but this causes the socket connections to fail at faster rates. (It still does in Beta2.1 as well.) It sounds like the TCP stack is still under development to some degree, I recall a comment about adding support for fragmented packets. So its tough to say what the final results will be. There are trade offs to be made between speed and capability. It might be faster to do the simpler UDP packets. I suspect that 110kbytes of total bandwidth is about max. for this device.
