There are devices in NDOR in My Organisation for which the device type is not set. What should I do?
If you find devices for which the device type is not set please set the device type only to the appropriate device type do NOT use this to change the existing device type to reflect a change in device registration that you wish to make. In short a blank device type represents a lack of information about the device type, so if there is a device which is currently a CFS client but the device type is not set, it should only be set to the appropriate CFS device type. Equally, if you have a non-CFS device (standalone Windows XP or linux device) that has no device type set, changing the device type to CFS will not result in the appropriate CFS client creation being invoked – the correct procedure is to delete the existing device and create a new device record of the appropriate type.
