There is a section between my free electives section and the non-degree section that says “Additional Hours from Waivers.” What is that and what do I do with that section?
Occasionally students will receive a waiver of requirement (WR) for a particular class. A common example is if you took ENG 111Z instead of ENG 111/112 or ENG 101. When that happens, it is simply a waiver of that particular course, not the credit. The number of hours required for graduation does not change. Instead, you just have to make up those hours with free electives instead. When a waiver gets put into the system, you will see a WR where a letter grade would normally go. Then that “Additional Hours from Waivers” section gets added near the end of your degree audit to tell you that you need to take some additional hours of free electives to make up for the waiver. So when you are planning items in your plan of work, you do need to make sure you are fulfilling those hours from waivers.
