There seems to be a different culture around Pony baseball than Little League?
There is different atmosphere around the Pony diamond than you might be used to. It seems that the social life of kids who are 13 and 14 is beginning to blossom. Friends of players come down to the ball field to watch and hang out and the players use the park as a place to see friends even when their own team is not playing. In addition, parents seem a little more relaxed. The action is on a bigger field and the game looks much more like the full game of baseball. The teenage players are less dependent on their parents than they were in Little League. Parents and grandparents bring a lawn chair, sit and relax, and enjoy the fun of baseball. Many parents and players have said their years in Davenport East baseball are the most enjoyable of all their years in youth baseball.
