A No. Like MiniDV, the actual bitrate is 25Mpbs to/from the tape and i.Link runs at the 100Mbps speed. Note that i.Link’s standard speeds are 100, 200, and 400Mbps. With a data rate of 25Mbps, there is no advantage to running the interface faster. This can cause problems if hubbed with an external Firewire hard drive however. One WANTS the hard drive to use one of the faster I.Link speeds (400 or 800Mbps). For this reason, try to run an externarl hard disk directly to your computer and not daisy-chained with a camcorder.
