Torlon needs to be post-cured after molded. Is it necessary to post-cure Torlon products after machining?
Generally speaking post-curing of Torlon machined parts is not always required. However, if the Torlon parts are primarily friction & wear in nature and/or large amounts of material (0.030 inch or 0.76 mm or more) have been machined away from extruded stock during the secondary operation step, then we recommend a post-curing process to achieve the material’s ultimate wear and chemical resistance characteristics. Guidelines for post-curing machined parts are usually provided from the stock shape distributor or may also be found here.
