I want to know if this is could be an electrical issue, or if something could be wrong with my engine. I’m sure it could be anything, but I’m hoping someone out there has had a similar experience as I did. A: This is not unusual especially among Toyota Camry owners. You might have just filled up on gas after getting close to an almost empty tank. What may have occurred is the vacuum that you experience when you first open the gas filler cap and some air may have escaped. This sends a message to the computer of an “abnormality” and sends a signal to the sensors and triggers a check engine light.
