Used metal windows , sweat badly, can vinyl replacement window be installed behind metal,exterior walls 2×6?
I would guess that although you’ll decrease the sweating in the metal windows you won’t make it go away, you’ve still got that temperature differential between them & then you’re going to be cleaning between the two…… I don’t know where you are in the country, but the real problem w/metal in many places is its conductivity, they’ll always be transferring heat at a faster rate than what surrounds them, & even if they’re double glazed it still won’t completely make up for the transfer issue, which means they’ll sweat & it sounds like you know all about the mold that follows. Even though it sounds like a simple quick fix I wouldn’t do it.
