The doctor should of given you a book to read about the procedure. You will be sedated, but still able to talk. The doctor will numb the area around your femoral artery (groin area), then make a small incision and push a catheter up through to the heart and shoot some dye up through the catheter. You should feel very little if anything. When the dye goes through you may feel a warm flushing sensation for a few seconds. You will also be able to see your heart and the procedure on a television screen. After they take the pictures of your heart, the doctor will pull out the catheter and close the incision with a few stitches. You then will be taken to the recovery room and will be there for a few hours to make sure the bleeding is all stopped and then you will be discharged.
