Visual aid for industrial easier said than done of audible range hand on production vein?

At my job we have a guy who is deaf and he is talented and wants to work on the production line surrounded by the manufacturing plant. What kind of ocular communication could the company install so that he could safely stand at one end of the chain (operating a saw) while another employee stands at the other end of the splash to receive the finished product. I was thinking maybe close to some type of stop light so that the person at the completion of the line could hit a button for red and that would mean stop and green would be going to go and perhaps pallid would me give me one so that I can check it before running. Please donate me suggestions because I want everyone to have a safe work place. Thanks for your time.
