Waht are the main agricultural crops grown in Sweden?
Grain and ley crops account for most of the crops grown in Sweden. Some 43% of the arable land is used for grain, mostly barley, wheat and oats. The differing climatic conditions in different parts of the country affect the choice of crops grown. Ley, green fodder and feed grain are the main crops cultivated in the north. The production of cereals is concentrated to the flat lands of central and southern Sweden. Oilseed rape cultivation also takes place mainly in the southern and central regions of the country. Potatoes are grown everywhere, but the yield per hectare differs considerably between the north and the south. Sugar beet is grown mainly in the southernmost part of Sweden.
