Was Irish immigration a benefit?

0

Some of the Irish originally came to this country because of the potato Famines in the 1800`s. A disaster and disgrace that could have been alleviated by the English government. In both World Wars the Irish fought alongside their British and Commonwealth counterparts. After the war, along with Caribbeans they were invited to come to this country to fill vacancies in the NHS and transport system. Building sites and roadworks would not function without Paddy although now he has been pushed out by the Poles. The Irish have never tried to impose their culture onto the population unlike other immigrant groups. This country owes the Irish a debt and would be poorer without them being here. Also most people have a bit of Irish blood in them now.
