Was Jefferson referring to women in the Declaration of Independence?
….at that time the only people that made decisions/laws (on a personal or public level) were wealthy, white males…. when the DOI was written, it was written on this premise… women were generally not considered to be important policy/decision makers at the time (however, privately, some were—but that is still being debated).
