Was Julius Caesar a Great Reformer or was he an Ambitious Dictator?

I think it all comes down to a matter of opinion but I beleive he was a pretty hardcore dictator. His entire life and rise to power was done over the bodies of his rivals. He was popular among “The people” because he supposedly helped them out so much. This was more of a calculated effort to get support wherever he could get it than any real affection for the plight of the poor. He was a great miltary leader and did expand the Roman lands greatly. BUt he was also ruthless and bloodthirsty. He is the sole reason why the word Caesar (which was just his last name) came to be synonymous with the word dictator. The title was even emulated in Germany (Kaiser) and Russia (Czar). Hope this helps.
