NO! Lisa Lopes was NOT wearing her belt. At first, it was unclear due to the condition of the vehicle after the crash. Press initially reported that Lopes was wearing one, but they were incorrect. Review of the tape shows her WITHOUT a belt. A Mitsubishi Montero does NOT have a “lap belt only” option. Lopes lost control and was ejected from the vehicle. Her death was caused by massive head injuries as a result. Unfortunately, Left Eye was NOT wearing a seat belt.
