Was Sir Walsingham of the Reign of Elizabeth 1 part jewish?
He was protestant. He attended the protestant King’s College at Cambridge. He was famous as the famous Protestant Statesman who served Queen Elizabeth I as a Spymaster. It is not specified anywhere that he was part Jewish… I am quite sure he was of the Church of England, like most of the country. I study Elizabethan history and judging by his devoutness to England, the evidence that states he was from an old and notable family is most definitely correct. There is some possibility that his father William Walsingham, or mother Joyce Denny was was of some Jewish descent, however there is no evidence supporting it. Hope this helped!
