Neither. We love John’s (John Frusciante) mix and wouldn’t change it! I heard Warpaint was signed to Rough Trade Records. Were you excited about the record deal? Oh yeah! So excited. They are just the coolest of cool. They don’t ever step in and try to control their artists. They come from a very pure place in their support of music. When they believe in a project, they are simply giving it an avenue of expression. What they do is very noble. How did it come about? This guy called Paul Jones found our EP and tipped Geoff Travis off about it. They had one of their guys up in Portland come out to a show we played there last summer, and he liked what he saw. He came down to L.A. and saw another show shortly after that and told Geoff that we should do a deal. It all happened pretty fast after that. We got really lucky! We were getting really impatient to get an album made. How is the new full-length record going? Great! It’s been a long process. Recording is a learn-as-you-go kind of thing
