Was there a 1986 Pontiac GTA?
I can tell you 100% sure that there was never a 1986 Pontiac GTA. The first GTA was introduced in 1987. Theres many imposters floating around out there. If someone is trying to tell you otherwise, theyre dead wrong. Any 86 GTA’s out there are nothing but Trans Ams with some GTA emblems (most likely placed in the wrong position). One good way to prove a car is a GTA is to check inside the glove box for the factory sticker. A true GTA will have the number Y-86 on this sticker. The 86 has nothing to do with a year.
