To get even with her, Nels helps the robbers by pretending to be Black Jake, and they kidnap Harriet in an attempt to get the money. They send a randsom note to Nancy and Willie Oleson. But what Nels and the men don’t know is that Harriet set up the Oleson family bank account so that she is the only one who can get money out of the account. Meanwhile, Nancy and Willie find this out themselves when they go to the bank and try to take out money to pay the randsom. When the banker says he can’t give it to them, Nancy and Willie go home, where she sees a jar full of the candy licorice guns and gets an idea.
