Was there any influence from Bo Kosters indie rock style on “Five is Red?
” One moment in particular was the vocal choir sound on “Self To the Dark”. It was directed by Bo who is a brilliant musical mind. He knew just what to do to get all of us on the correct parts. His playing on the record changed the sound in a big way. I now give him guitar lessons for life. I understand this is your third album release, how does “Five is Red” differ from your self-titled debut and “Radio Cafe?” First of all I traveled, out of my comfort zone and yielded to their production ideas. I had a trust in them like a child that is in the back seat of the car as Dad drives down the interstate. I trusted them completely and wanted them to feel a sense of ownership. With all of my other recordings, I have been very controlling and I wanted to change that. I now am on a path that is headed somewhere new and fresh, at least from my prospective.
